Florida’s Division of Criminal Investigations
Florida’s Criminal Investigations Division investigates a wide range of fraudulent and criminal acts including:
- Fire and Explosives Sample Analysis
- Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigations
- Insurance Fraud Investigations
- Theft and Misuse of State Funds
- Workers’ Compensation Fraud Investigations
- Public Assistance Fraud
Within the the Department of Financial Services, led by CFO Jimmy Patronis, all law enforcement and forensic components are included within Florida’s Criminal Investigations Division. CID collaborates with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
CID encourages the public to report suspicious activity, including suspected arson, via a tip hotline.
