Attorney Remove Visits at the Polk County Jails
For attorneys and other professionals, remote visits can be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance for the following hours for the visit:
- 7:30 am to 10:30 am
- 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
- 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm
The individuals being held at the jail have limited opportunities for visits with friends and family. Remote visits can be scheduled twice per week for 20 minutes each day via the Securus video visitation system during the following hours:
- 7:30 am to 10:30 am
- 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
- 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm
For juveniles who have not been adjudicated on the pending charge, the remote visits are from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m only. Each session costs $10.00 for 20 minutes. The video visits are for either jail by appointment only using www.securustech.net.
Individuals being held at either the South or Central County Jail no longer receive physical mail sent by post. Instead, they can use kiosks located in each housing units to send and receive written communications with friend and family. Each message costs 50 service credits or 50 cents per message. Each photo costs 100 service credits or $1 per photo. Smart Jail Mail accounts can be set up at www.smartjailmail.com.

The letter should include the inmates name and ID number. Legal mail from an inmate’s attorney of record must be opened in the presence of the inmate and scanned into the inmate’s legal mail account. Attorney In Person Visits at South County Jail
As of Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the Department of Detention at the South Jail in Frostproof, FL, the jail has set the following hours for in person (face to face) visits for the criminal defense attorney or other professional visits:
- OPEN FOR MORNING VISITS: 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
- The South County Jail will stop pulling inmates for in person visits with their criminal defense attorney at 10:00 a.m. until noon.
- CLOSED FOR LUNCH BREAK: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- OPEN FOR AFTERNOON VISITS: 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- The South County Jail will stop pulling inmates for in person visits with their criminal defense attorney at 4:00 p.m each day.
- CLOSED FOR AFTERNOON BREAK: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- OPEN FOR EVENING VISITS: 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Due to the amount of time required to escort inmates to the Attorney Booth, the jail prefers that the attorney arrive at least 30 minutes before the closed hours to conduct the professional visit. The closed hours listed above are times when the inmates are locked down and MUST be returned to their housing locations.
The jail staff has announced that arrival any later than 30 minutes before the closed hours may not afford the attorney adequate time with their client.
