FDLE Cybercrime Office (FCO)
THE FDLE Cybercrime Office (FCO) was established to take action against computer-related crimes. The stated mission of FCO involves:
- investigating complex cybercrime;
- establishing technological and telecommunication systems in support of criminal investigations;
- assisting state, regional, and local technical investigations;
- training investigators;
- disseminating information to the public
- proactively working to identify and prevent future cyber and high-tech crimes.
The FDLE Cybercrime Office’s inbox is monitored from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. FDLE maintains a Common Cybercrime Complaints page where the public can find cybercrimes and additional resources.
Members of the FCO work closely with the Florida Attorney General’s Cyber Fraud Enforcement Unit, established in 2023. These agencies train local law enforcement officers to seize cryptocurrency and other property.
The attorneys at Sammis Law Firm fight criminal and civil asset forfeiture cases, including those involving the seizure of cryptocurrencies.
