The Pinellas County Justice Center (CJC) Courthouse and Annex Building are located at 14250 49th Street North, Clearwater, FL 33762, in Pinellas County, FL. The CJC includes the Jury Assembly section, the Clerk’s Department, the Courthouse Annex building with the Family Court, and Judicial Administration.
Security at the courthouse is managed by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. PCSO deputies are stationed at the front doors and in each of the courtrooms. At the front door’s security checkpoint, deputies will search purses, backpacks, briefcases, and other belongings.
Construction on the courthouse began in 1982. A major court addition was added in 1996. The current renovation began in 2021 and will add an additional 5,000 gross square feet main entrance addition and a secure lobby.
According to Mason Blau and Associates, Inc., the County Justice Center (CJC) Courthouse and attached Annex Building involved a $69,000,000.00 design criteria package. Dewberry Architects served as an Associate Architectural firm that participated with Mason Blau and Associates, Inc., on the project.
The total floor area of the complex includes more than 533,000 gross square feet. The planned renovations of the new Courthouse Annex will expand the space to include 79,000 gross square feet.
